Read the labels on packaged foods. The Food and Drug Administration requires that some labels include nutrition information and percentages of US Recommended Daily Allowances (U.S. RDAs) for certain nutrients. This is required on foods to which a nutrient has been added and that are advertised as having special nutritional qualities. The U.S. RDAs are based on the levels of protein, vitamins, and minerals needed by most people to maintain good health. |
