Applesauce Bread Recipes

Ingredients:

 

2 yeast cakes

1 quart lukewarm water

1/3 cup raw sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 cups applesauce

8 cups whole wheat flour

 

Method:

  • Dissolve yeast cakes in small amount of lukewarm water.

  • Mix vegetable oil, applesauce, and remaining water.

  • Add dissolved yeast.

  • Add flour and make a stiff dough.

  • Knead well.

  • Let rise in warm place until double in bulk.

  • Knead and let rise again.

  • Shape into loaves and let rise until double.

  • Bake in hot oven (425oF) for 1 hour.
