Gourmet Prune Pie Recipes

Ingredients:

 

1 pint cooked prunes

1 cup prune juice

1/2 cup raw sugar or honey

2 tsp lemon juice

1/4 tsp almond flavoring

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp arrowroot powder

 

Method

  • Wash prunes.

  • Soak over night in cold water.

  • In the morning, pit on stove in the water they soaked in.

  • Simmer until tender, then let them cool.

  • Cut prunes in half and remove stones.

  • Put 3/4 cup of the juice on the stove.

  • When it comes to a boil, thicken with the arrowroot powder moistened with remaining 1/4 cup of juice.

  • Cook up well.

  • Remove from the fire.

  • Add the sugar or honey, pitted prices, and all other ingredients.

  • Then put in the baked pastry shell.

  • The top may be covered, after it gets cold, with yogurt.
