Chicken Orleans Recipe

Ingredients:

 

2 tbsp wheat germ oil

1 cup brown rice

1 cup sliced celery

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

3 1/2 cups stewed tomatoes

1 cup water

1 bouillon cube

2 cups cooked, cubed chicken

1 cup cooked peas

1 bay leaf

1 tsp kelp

 

Method:

  • Steam wheat germ oil in large skillet.

  • Add rice, celery, onion, and garlic.

  • Saute until rice is lightly cooked and vegetables tender.

  • Add tomatoes, water, and bouillon cube.

  • Cover, cook 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender.

  • Combine rice mixture with remaining ingredients in a 3-quart casserole.

  • Bake, covered, in a moderate oven (375oF) for 30 minutes.
